Hello warke
Although I cant say for sure how your exisitng time profile have german abbreviation for monthly TP but I can surely help you to change it back to english. In case you are using a standard TP,. where you dont have any custom time attributes, then select and make sure that your "language and region" option is selected as English under your user settings. then use the application job to generate time period for TP. This will most probably update the abbreviation to english. In case your time profile have custom attributes ( e.g use of fiscal calendar, 445 retail calender) or if the above approach doesnt solve your puropose then do the following.1) Down the time profile from the data integration job app >>>>>> download template and select the option as shown in the attachment.2) open the time profile downloaded csv file either in notepad++ or in excel csv mode and replace the german abbreviation to english and save and close the file.3) use the upload option in the data integration job app and select the right time profile and csv file and mode as replacement.Hope this helps

SAP IBP Excel Month Format in English

Hi Experts,

I'd like to format the month column header in english. At the moment we only have the german abbreviation. Do we had a mistake in creating time profiles?

For example month 12.2021 = "Dez 2021", but in english should be "Dec 2021" (with "c").

Because of individual user setting language (DE, EN and so on), ideally this month column should have been displayed in logon language. If it doesn't work I'd like to have the english version by default.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards Nico

Hi Nico,

You can only maintain time period description in one language via time profile. However, if there are any specific templates where you would like to maintain description in other language, this can be achieved in 2 ways :

1. Using EPM formatting.

For e.g., here I have description maintained as Dec-21 in time profile; I would like to display it as Dez-21

Go to IBPFormatingSheet, under Dimension Member/Property Formatting, click on Add Member/Property for Column. A pop-up will appear. Select Month and respective month (Dez 21 in your case) from right panel. Click on OK. This month should be added in the Sheet. Mark Use as None against Data and Content against Header fields. Now modify header as required (Dec 21 in your case). You need to perform the same for all months where description need to be changed.

2. Using Options in Planning View Template

Open the template. Go to Settings > Options > Member Names. Select Month and search Dec. Select the month from list and enter new name for member. Click on Override. Repeat for all other members. Changed member names should appear on right hand side. Click on Ok. Update the template.

You may have to do the same activitiy once every year as and when new months open up for future horizon.

Regards,

Piyush
