Base Currency and its Conversion similar to UOM conversion

Hello Experts

After a long time I have got a requirement for revenue and gross calculation which involves quite some custom requirement. I am not getting into details but the bottom line, if I can have a structure for currency very similar to UOM, like Base Currency, similar to Base UOM and all its associated conversions, then majority of my requirement will be addressed.

I know how the standard CURR MDT and conversions works along with EXCHANGERATE. What I am looking for is, do we have something simlar in the SAP sample PA ? If yes which sample PA should i refer to ? If no then the only option I could think off is creating a parallel MDTs, planning levels, attributes and KFs that are associated with UOM and use the custom structure as CURRENCY and use the same in the calculation.

But the above approach will take a lot of time and also I have to ensure that the solution is simple enough to handover the same to run and support after the solution goes live.

Based on the above approach please provide your inputs and feedbacks with pros and cons, so that we I can take a better decision with the solution approach.
