SAP ME on HANA Cloud

Hello,

I am exploring the HANA capabilities with SAP ME. In service market there are steps available to install HANA and connect with SAP ME. I am looking for how to connect SAP ME/MII with HANA cloud. Please let me know is there any document available, I have already created an development account on https://account.hanatrial.ondemand.com/ and wants to connect it with SAP ME/MII.

You can download the mechanism to connect HANA with SAP ME. The details are mentioned in Upgrade guide of SAP ME (Section 5.8)

Hi Vikash,

Thanks for the response. The document shared explains about the HANA database or migration from old database to HANA. Can we connect SAP ME directly with HANA cloud. Also in SAP HANA Cloud Platform Cockpit, there are lot of services available, are we able to use it with SAP ME.

Yes, you can connect directly to SAP HANA with SAP ME. We are infact using it. there are some limitations but overall it is okay.

Have you connected with SAP HANA which is install on your local infrastructure or you have connected with SAP HANA cloud.

Also are you facing any issues with Archiving, as there is no concept of ODS database instead it has hot and Warm storage.

Archiving is not supported when you have HANA for Background processing (which includes Archiving, it requires different setup). Also we don't have ODS database.

It is on HANA cloud.

Can you please tell me what be approach for Archiving strategy after using SAP ME on HANA ?

Is there any concept for hot and cold data storage mechanism ?

Archiving for HANA platform is being planned for coming versions. However you could archiving using transactions that can run every bi-weekly. You might need to create your own Transactions though.
