Problem in PO creation using generic article in SAP FMS system.

Hi Friends,

I am trying to create po using generic article in sap fms system. First I am entering generic article, system expecting variant quantities, I have entered the quantities per variant. Immediately system adds to variant line items in po and refreshes generic article quantity and delivery date and prompting error to enter variant quantities again and again. I am not able save po. Kindly provide some suggestions.

try the Troubleshooting Tools ANST and PANKS

If it is a known issue then those tools can give you the OSS notes that need to be applied.

ANST is also able to show you own coding which could have influenced this behavior.

Hi,

Thanks for your response. My process sequence is follows.

1. Add generic material and providing all details like quantity and delivery date, price, plant etc.

2. System brings variant tab in item detail for generic article and expects to enter variant quantities.

3. The moment I entered variant quantities, immediately system adds additional line items in PO and then system makes display mode for quantity and delivery schedule tab of generic article.

4. Now system prompts two error messages as below. Since it is in display mode for generic article, I am not able to provide those details.

1. Please maintain variant quantities - Message no. MEPO064

2. Please enter a delivery date - Message no. MEPO042

Hope it is clear now the scenario.

Is this the first time that you work with generic articles?

Or does it work for other generic articles and just not for this one?

Did it work in the past and suddenly stopped working?
