Can some please share an end-to-end example of how to use MDO.

MDO Query, its usage in UI [i.e. How to get/set data] etc

Take a look at Sam's 12.2 sample project in the MII Wiki. I am pretty sure it will show some examples of how to use it. I also believe he has a white paper somewhere in the wiki on MDO. I will see if I can find it or will ping him to post.
