SAP FC Remote User identification

Hello World!

I would like to know what to type in the Remote text area to access my FC datasource.

As soon as I type and validate my server's IP address, I get an error:

Failed to initialize data source manager. Failed to access the data source manager on machine XXX.XX.XX.XX for an unknown reason

The data source is working fine on my server, I can connect to it with the fat client User Identification form and selecting the Local option.

But with the Remote option, I cannot seem to find the right instruction to write to access my server. Even before I tclick on OK. Actually I cannot, the button gets grey as soon as I start manipulating the User Identification Form.

Dear Teo,

This is a probably a connection issue betwen your client and the BFC server.

Have you correctly configure the DCOM protocols on the BFC server as described in the security guide:

Also you should be able to connect if you put the DNS server name directly instead of the IP.
