Add Item to a delivery without reference to a sales order

Hello everybody,

I'm trying to add an item to an existing delivery via VL02n without reference to a sales order but every time the following error message appears: "You cannot add this item to the delivery".

What settings do i need in order to that? (material type, delivery type, item category group,..etc..)

Could anyone help me?

check in 'define item categories' ,if this item you are adding is relevant for delivery at all.

you have to configure delivery item category determination via transaction 0184

this is srinivas in your case it is not possible to add the extra item without refering sales order because the delivery document type LF is having mandatory of sales order, and all of u know that without refering sales order also u can do the delivery via LO doc. type

so is not possible to use a document type that need a preceding document and set the no reference at item level?

The fact that delivery type LF has mandatory sales order just means that you can not create a new delivery document without referencing to a sales order.Yet you can add new items to the delivery that has been created with reference to a sales order by configuring the delivery item category determination.

Ok i have set the following

ZNL LEIH ZNLP

ZNL LEIH PACK ZNLP

ZNL is the delivery type,

LEIH is the item category group

ZNLP is the delivery item associated.

So i've tried to change the settings to ZNLP delivery item with no result. The item can't be added to the delivery. I don't know if i miss something at delivery item definition level or maybe the delivery type determination is wrong....

This might be too much of a pain for you, but you could create a ZFD sales doc (standard in ECC60 I beleive) which is free of charge delivery sales order.

Then you should be able to VL01n with the original sales doc and also the ZFD doc (it is configured to use LF delivery type as well.) for the freebies

Hi!

Its not feasible to add a new line item without reference, becuase in one of the user exits such a code would have been written to prevent adding line item without refernec.

This is done to ensure that a standard availabilty check, pricing and infostructure updates are done. Otherwise, after billing the report of Profitabilty will not come correct and will lead to more problems.

So my suggestion would be not to add the line item withour referencing to the sales order.

SAP provides the way of unreferincing through a seperate delivery type called LO. So if you want to create a delivery without refernce, you can use delivery type LO or some Z version of it.

So i forgot to explain that i'm talking about delivery for stock transport order.

But i have read in SAP documentation that is possibile to add a packaging item to the delivery.

So is it necessary first add the packaging item to the stock transport order?

Hi!

Yes, its best to do that, so that there is a proper flow of line items in the documents.

The user exit that I am talking of works in the delivery, so whatever is the preeceding document, you will have to use the referencing else it will keep on giving this error.
