Material Ledger Header Record Missing?

Hello Everyone,

I am getting an "Error reading material ledger header record" when I try to display a material in MM03. Does anyone know why or how I can fix it?

you need to check the settings here:

spro-controlling-product cost controlling-actual costing/material ledger

first check assignment to valuation area and number ranges for mat.led.docs

is that trouble for only one material?

what about other materials for the same valuation area (can you display them using MM03)?

As far as I know it is only for one material. When I try to display in MM03, I get the error if I choose either the Accounting/Costing tabs.

please try to fix it by extending:

before you do that find another "correct" material on the same plant/valuation type,

with same mat. grp and hierarchy

run MM01

type your "bad" material in material field

and your "correct" material in "Copy from" field

hit Enter

pass Warning message (if you get it)

select views Accounting/Costing

hit Enter

type from plant...to plant...(the same for valuation types)

hit Enter

...

check each screen

...

save material

run MM03 again and check

Unable to extend material: "Valuation category does not allow split valuation"

In MM03, "Required data for material 510104 does not exist" when I try to view for valuation area 7900.

in this case try to do the same thing but keep blank field "Copy from" (do not refer to another material)

I don't know which valuation you need to type - try several variants...

my understanding is - your "problem" material to be fixed / extended in those two views

Warwick, Thanks for your help but no matter what I put in I get an error saying either the material is already maintained or that the valuation cannot be split. This is telling me that the material was extended but I cannot figure out why it will not display in MM03!!

In MM03, when displaying w/o valuation I get:

Required parameters missing when calling up module MARV_SINGLE_READ.

i suspect data is damaged (for this material).

try to find OSS note or find abaper who can find a bug...
