How to Create Custom field in Sales Quotation Item and Flow it to Subsequent Sales Order Item

Hi SAP Experts!

I got a requirement to Create a Custom field at Sales Quotation Item level and the Value Given at Quotation level should flow to subsequent Sales Order.

I tried creating Custom field through Custom Fields App in Key user extensibility and checked Business Context for Sales Quotation but didn't find. so tried creating field in Sales Document Item business context, the field is getting created in both Sales Quotation and Sales Order but the values which entered at Quotation level are not flowing to Sales order.

Kindly Help.

Hi @SriSaiBhargav,

You did everything correct so far. You can only create Custom Fields on Sales Document level which includes Quotations, Orders, Customer Returns etc.. To copy the value of a custom field from one sales document to another sales document you just need to enable the business scenario "Sales Document to Sales Document on Header Level" in Custom Fields app. You can find some documentation here.

In addition I would absolutely recommend to read that blog which gives a good overview about how to use key user extensibility in S/4HANA Public Cloud. In the example in that blog the custom field flow from Sales Quotation to Sales Order is also shown and described in detail.

If you want to have some additional logic during copying from Sales Quotation to Sales order, you can also implement Data Transfer BAdIs which are documented here.
