Automatic account assignment category in purchase requisition based on material type

Is it possibile to fill the account assignment category automatic based on material type in a purchase requisition? Our client has some materials that have a customized material type ''non value'', so account assignment category needs to be free of charge while default is normally on cost center.

The requisitions are made by people who not always know if material is free of charge, so requirement is to fill the account assignment type automatically when material with material type 'non value' is entered.

Hi,

I don't think so you can achieve this by standard functionality, however you can work with your developer and write the logic based on material type and it should pick the Account assignment automatically.

In my opinion, for non-valuated materials - Account assignment is mandatory at PR/PO.
so we may need to train users to enter 'K' with corresponding details. Please revert.
For any automatic/wonder scenarios, always go for a development (but need to understand how frequently we use this scenario and any cost impact about this process and ME51N performance check).
