how to link a credit memo to default gl account

hi all.,

does anyone know how to link a credit memo to a particular gl account and set as default., and i tried in gl a/c determination and i didnt find any doc related to credit memo., pls answer.,

Hi.......

Do you want it in Service type credit memo or Item Type credit memo?

If its in Service type then you have to select the GL ACct manually every time else you can set a GL default by FMS.....

Hi.......

If you are maintaining series then on the display on Series, GL account should come automatically.

hi., i'm really sorry., i've just completed the course and preparing for exam., and not that good in understanding sap things., but as ur hint suggests that in document numbering there is a default series as primary., and nothing worked out but if we open a a/r creditmemo doc and formsettings -- g/l a/c., we have to select it manually.,

but i want that to happen automatically in the backend as it happens for other docs..,

Hi,

As you know there are two type of credit memo. One is Service type another one is item type.

Item type credit memo can be copied from the invoice or can be created standalone. For that there is no GL account selection can be required. It is all determined in the GL account determination and Item group or warehouse determination which is based on your GL account settings.

If it is service type credit memo, this also can be copied from the invoice or can be created standalone. When creating a Service type of invoice or credit memo in the particular document line item user has to choose the GL account manually. You canu2019t define the GL account in the GL account determination or elsewhere. But you can create a work around like FMS.
