Overall budget less than cumulative budget

Hi,

I have try to return the budget amount in im52, im38 but i am receiving the error message like

Message no. BQ155

Diagnosis

The overall budget 14,678,166.00 GBP in operative element NATIONS

& REGIONS - ENGLAND is less than the accumulated budget

98,388,500.00 GBP.

The accumulated budget is the total of the annual budgets.

Please help us to solve the above issue with steps.

Hi Krishna,

you are trying to return budget from top level wbs element to IM Position ID in IM52, but you have to transfer from lowe level wbe element to top level wbs element and then try to return from top level wbs element to position id.

in your case system is check the available budget (overall - available) at top level wbs element. So, transferred

amount should be available at top level wbse.

Thanks for your valuable reply. Please give step by step procedure with t.code. Whether i have to return the budget amount from lower level wbs to higher level wbs through TC CJ38 and return higher level WBS to position ID through IM52?.

Please correct if wrong.

Hi,

First check the Overall Budget and budget distributed in CJ30 for top level wbse.the amount you want to return back to IM Position id tru IM38 should be available at top level wbse. i.e (Overall - Distributed).

If the budget amount you want to return from top level wbse is avilable, then go to IM38 and return budget from wbse to Position ID and save it.

If you are finding any errors please revert back with T-Code wise exact errors you r finiding...

Thanks for your reply. I am receiving same error as mention above. CJ 30

Budget amount 1325100

current budget 1325100

Distributed 1294917

Distributable 30883.

But when go to im 38 or im 52 before doing any transaction if do checking i am error message is like above .

At Project level

Current budget 1325100

Distributed 1294917

Distributable 30883

At Position Id Level

Current budget 14,678,166

Distributed 14,678,166

Distributable nil

Cumulative 98,388,500

Remainder -83,710,334

Carry forward 22,081,288

There problem is at Possition ID level. There is mis match between Current budget and Cumulative.

I have applied sap note 1230375 also.

Kindly do the needful.

Thank you for explaining clearly !!

What i noticed based on the error message you are getting is Overall Budget is less than the Annual Budget. So..make the remainder "0" by copying the Cumulative value into Overall in IM Program like how we do in CJ40 or CJ30.

Now Open IM32 and do changes first to make remainder "0" ( i mean Overall Budget should be equal to the sum of annual budget for all years). Then Open IM38 and try to return back budget amount from top level WBSE.

Hi,

you have to make remainder - 0.

Remainder = Overall Budget - Sum of Annual budget of all years.

remainder is -ve means sum of annual budget for all years more than oveall budget which is inconsistent during budget check and system through an error.

So select overall option in IM32 and select all position ids, copy cumulative values to overall, then remainder =0.

There is no copy option available in im 32. Could you please help in this regards,

I can find Under Edit menu, there is copy overview ,If select, there is list available, from that Whether i have to select Reminder option , then it will display a popup box, what percentage needs to give and Whether needs to select Overwrite or Add.

Hi Krishna,

You are in the right direction !!

Once you select copy option in Edit, you have to select Cumulative option and select 100% and Overwrite. then remainder gets "0" check for errors if any.

REMEMBER ALL THE ABOVE PROCESS SHOULD BE DONE FOR OVERALL BUDGET OPTION.

Still you are facing problem in remainder column with any -ve values reply back.

Hi,

Once you opened IM32, First select all IM Position IDs and then goto edit --> Copy --> Cumulative.

First do this process for all years and then come to Overall and do it once.

Then remainder becomes - 0

you have to update the budget for overall and then cumulative.
