Inventory Data Load in WM Bins..

Hello,

For the cutover we would like to Load the Inventory for WM in the Bins.

What(and How) is the best way to load the inventory in the Storage type/Bins without much of development work(like LSMW or CATT?)

I know I can do a 561 from MB1C that will take the products into a interim storage type but how do I move it to the destination bin. Manually moving them by creating a TO would be time consuming.

Is there a simple way to put the stock/Inventory directly into the WM Bins.

movement type 561 can be customized to have storage type and storage bin fields optional for entries, further WM movement type 561 can be customized to not create TRs and TOs

So you can use LSMW and post the stock directly to a WM bin.

Can you explain it in more details what exactly has to be done.

Can you show me the config path/transaction for these steps.

1) movement type 561 can be customized to have storage type and storage bin fields optional for entries....where/what fields?

2) WM movement type 561 can be customized to not create TRs and TOs.... where?

3)use LSMW and post the stock directly to a WM bin... what transaction and how?

I did go in the LE-Activities-Transfer-movement types but dont find all you have mentioned.

Answers to these would defintely help me a lot.

561 can be customized in OMCJ transaction, which is IMG > MM > IM > GR > Define Screen Layout

select your movement 561 go into the detail, double click warehouse management and set WM storage bin optional.

IMG > LE > WM > Interfaces > Define movement types

select LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management - make field TR creation and immediate TO creation for 561 movement in your warehouse empty

LSMW is a transaction. Search the forum, there are plenty threads with documentation. But you dont need to use LSMW, if you know/have already a different mehtod for stock uploading .

Thanks once again for your quick response.

As per your suggestion I have made change to 561 in OMCJ with WM bin Optional.

Now where can I see that bin field to Upload the stock. Basically I dont see the Bin field in transaction MB1C? Is there any other transaction?

Same goes with the LSMW. I can do the LSMW but the transaction I was asking was about which transaction(MB1C?) to use in the LSMW to upload stocks?

Right now I dont have any other easy method. I think yours might get easy I get the exact process.

Now when I am doing MB1C once I enter the material/quantity/Batch in the initial screen and hit enter or details it is giving me an error.

Storage bin XXXX(plant name) does not exist.(there is a space which means no bins and st type)

I am guessing it is trying to say that there is no Storage type and Bin associated with the WM movement 561.

I just made it blank for movement type 561 (from 998 St type and AUFHNAME bin) and now in MB1C it is looking for the bin without even giving me chance to enter the bin and storage type manually.

Can you tell me if the config LE-WM-Activities-Transfers-Define Mvt Types need some entrys.

You need to do proper execution of MB1C.

You have to enter the storage type and storage bin in MB1C transaction, if you dont leave the fields empty, then it will not post to 998 AUFNAHME.

you have to do MB1C

specify document and posting date,

enter movement type 561

enter plant and storage location

click new item

enter material

quantity and unit

batch

storage type and storage bin

save (or continue with new item)

Hi,

We did use the follwoing proces sat my current client:

1. Upload inventory through MIGO using mvt 562. We used LSMW program for the upload.

2. Putaway inventory through t-code LT01. We used LSMW program for this.

It works though it does not allows storage types with SU management active.

The method that you have shown is for a single material.

Is there a way where I can can enter a list(15-20) of materials along with the Quantity, Batch, Storage type and the Bins together which will save the development of a LSMW.

I know in MB1C after the initial screen once you hit enter(instead of new item) it brings a screen where you can enter list of material,Qty,Batch but not the storage type or bins.

Can we bring the storage type or Bin here.

Also where(storage type/bin?) did the initial load via MIGO go.

Did it go to some interim storage type and then you move to final destination thro LT01?

Do you have a file format/fields that you used for the LT01 LSMW?

No you cannot get the storage type and bin into the overview screen.

The developement in LSMW is even more complicated if try to fill an overview screen, as you would have to describe the same field multiple times (as many times as you have lines in your screen, and you would have to consider that this changes if you execute it from a PC with a different screen resolution)

Where is the benefit of fillig a page compared ot a single detail?

You just have less material documents.

If something is wrong during the load it is even easier to cancel single movements if they are in a single document.

before you start with mass movement in LSMW you should test the movement online.

If you maintain the fields for storage type and bin already in the MM movement, then it does not hit an interim storage type. (that was the goal, so you dont need an extra effort to clean up TRs and TOs or do an extra step with LT01 for the WM part)

Hi,

Sorry mvt is 561.

After 561 inventory goes into 998 bin AUFNAHME.

The material master was already extended to a storage type and the storage bin and during the LT01 prograem run system find the source and destination bin easily.

Unfortunatley I don't have the program details as I was involved only in functional design not technical design and then execution. But I remember correctly that there is a SAP standard LSMW program available for LT01 as I was trying to advoctae for LT10 and the programer came back that he has found a standard SAP LSMW for LT01.

Hey Jurgen,

Well I was trying to avoid the LSMW development and paste the field values directly from a Excel on the screen if it had the Storage type and bins. So atleast 20-30 materials at a time.

But I guess I would have to get a LSMW done. Do you think the LSMW for MB1C should be pretty simple.

Also if worst case we might do a manual entry in MB1C, is the process that you mentioned still fine?

It is pretty simple if you have some experience with LSMW.

You can do your own recording, or alternative you can use standard batch input for movement RM07MMBL

depending on the complexity of the business (e.g. batch mangament, split valuation, WM, stock status management, batch specific units...) you need more or less fields. I have templates with just 5 fields for stock upload. But as well some with about 50 fields

Hello Jurgen,

I am facing an error when I am doing a MB1C manually for one of my storage type.

The error is

"Storage type XXX not suitable as an interface because of stock plc.strat."

Diagnosis

The putaway strategy that is defined in the interim storage area does not allow an interim storage posting. The following putaway strategies are not allowed in interim storage areas:

B: Bulk storage area

P: Pallet stock

Q: Dynamic coordinate as quant number

Procedure

In Customizing either change the interim storage type search for Inventory Management or the putaway strategy in the storage type in question.

Bascially I am entering the material directly into the storage type/Bin I want and not to any interim storage(998,AUFHNAME etc) but above it says does not allow interim storage posting.

How can I resolve it.

I am trying to load the inventory to one of my regular storage type(my final Storage type) which has SUT check active in the configuration for Storage Type.

So basically I have the stock Placement strategy P(SUT) for the storage type which also has SUT active.

So in MB1C I am getting the mentioned error.

What can be done.
