Hi umesh sambare,

In case you have installed SAP-ABAP or SAP-JAVA application directly in your laptop, the SAP-Application Service itself entirely goes down with your Laptop shutdown.

In case you installed a VM & have SAP application running there, so once you stop the VM or if you shutdown the Laptop, in that case VM gets stopped, hence resulting in to SAP-Application entirely stop.

So, basically I see you are posting basic SAP BASIS related topics. You can also search in Google for answers. Generally, if you find an answer in Google & you face issue implementing the solution, then you post your question & we love to help.

Coming back to your original question, here MMC means "Microsoft Managed Console". So its like a browser for seeing or starting or stopping service. So here its SAPMMC, is for viewing the SAP application status, Start, Stop details. So, to give you another perfect example is Say you run services.msc in your Windows+R or cmd, it also opens the Running/Stopped Services MMC where you can see/stop/start your windows services. So here SAPMMC is also just like that. Just like closing your Chrome/Internet-Explorer does not have any effect in your mailbox, like that having the SAPMMC started or closing it before your Laptop shutdown does not make difference. In fact, closing the SAPMMC gives you a advantage that the Laptop Shutdown command does not have to force shutdown thus makes your Laptop shutdown a bit faster

Thanks,

Kaushik

Hello Umesh,

You can safely close the SAP MMC. It connects to the SAPControl webservice of sapstartsrv that runs independently.

Best regards

Frank
