SUM - DMO Please answer..

Hi Experts,

a) What is the list of software downloads required for migrating from DB2 to HANA 2.0 using DMO?

b) Can it be generated from the Maintenance planner ( or) need to download manually?

c) At which phase in the DMO, we should provide the target HANA database hostname?

d) Can DMO be used for migrating to the HANA database only (or) possible to other target databases?

e) Can DMO migrate from HANA to DB2 and MSSQL?

Please answer the queries exactly.

Daniel,

This varies based on source and target versions. so you need to refer SAP guides and Maintenance Planner /MP will take care of that.
manually not required & MP will identify and need push the required files
This is given in SELECT_ROADMAP phase where it prompts to select target database.
Refer SUM guide, as it may change from version to version. and screenshot attached for reference.
Refer SUM guide depending on the version. HANA as source db not supported.

Would appreciate If you could shed more light on the answers 1 & 2.

* The scenario is DMO without software update and no XML stack selection. want to know the role being played by the Maintenance planner for selecting the software's required. Still unclear..

*What are the software media's needed from source(DB2) and target HANA 2.0 databases.

* Is there anyway to change the app server too, along with DB migration?

Daniel,

you can choose option "No Stack configuration file required for scenario" for DMO without system update.

also app server can be reused or newly be installed along with DB migration.
