How to add a scanable discount/coupon to CCO?

Hi there,

we want to use a scanable discount, e.g. we print a barcode in a magazine which will grant the customer 10% on all articles.

Loyalty management is not active.

I therefore created a coupon in ccom, configured a discount rule and generated coupon instances, as described in the cco manual. The coupon instances are all synchronized to the CCO and can be attached to the receipt, but only manually, not when I scan the coupon instance code, CCO then just shows an error code.

Do I need special prefix/suffix for it, just like when I use a barcode for user login? Are these prefix/suffix configurations documented somewhere?

Thank you for the detailled instructions kellieanne.mckeon ! One question remains, is it somehow possible to not use the instance id but to use the coupon id , so you don't have to print individual barcodes? I already tried it, but it didn't work - is there a workaround available?

There is an option which is called "only valid with instance id", but it doesn't matter if it is enabled or disabled.

Also, one addition: I can also not increase the "usage per instance id" count to more then 1, which would probably solve my use case.

Each time a new instance is saved the count returns to 1, there is no way to adjust this number unfortunately. If you only want to have one ID, the use of the type discount button might be a better option as the instance of the discount button coupon never changes.

For a discount button coupon, one instance is automatically generated which contains the same ID as the coupon itself. But on cash desk side, these coupons are not scanned as it is expected to press the buttons to add the coupon to the receipt. To be able to scan the coupon and add it in a similar way as if the button is pressed, a plugin can be used to achieve that.
