Add Brand as an Attribute for Segmentation

Dear Experts,

I have a requirement to have 'Brands' as an attribute in the segment builder. I need to be able to create a segmentation based on the company's products' brands (ex: filter interactions based on all SONY or SAMSUNG products).

I would have imagined that this should be available on product-based data sources such as SAP_CE_PRODUCT_RELATED_IA. I can see many attributes related to products, such as Product ID, Product Name, Product Category, Product URL, and many others. However 'Brand' is not available as an attribute.

I can also see 'brand ID' on the template for Product import data:

So my question is: shouldn't 'Brand' be available as a standard attribute for Segmentaition? Is there any way I can enable it as an attribute via configuration?

Hi Luis,

You can upload brands via Import Data app:

Brands

and then refer to the brand_id like you showed in your product CSV.

I was able to find the brand in the following segmentation data source: CA_C_IC_CONTACT

I have checked and couldn't find data source CA_C_IC_CONTACT in my system. I am on Onpremise 1709 SP01. Do you think this is a problem?

I think it depends when your on-premise system was first installed. One of our systems was first installed when brands were not a thing and I cannot find a brand in the standard segmentation there, but in the other system, which was installed recently, it has a brand available. Both are 1709SP01 versions now.

Oh shoot! This may be my problem then. Although my system was installed just 2 months ago (august/2018).
