🇦🇹 SAP Build: Create Business Apps and Processes Without Code (Vienna, Austria)

This SAP CodeJam event will give you a hands-on experience with SAP Build for building apps and business processes without code (Low Code/No Code).

You will get to know the environment by creating:

A business app for an online store (SAP Build Apps).
A business process for approving purchases (SAP Build Process Automation).
We will also demo a business site in which you can embed the app (SAP Build Work Zone).

You will get to know the SAP Build lobby, where you access all your SAP Build artifacts, and get a deeper understanding of the following topics:

SAP Build Apps

Connecting to an ABAP, S/4HANA and CAP service
Building UIs
Binding data
Navigation
Triggering processes from your app
Scanning barcodes and implementing other mobile capabilities
Filtering data

SAP Build Process Automation:

Creating a process
Adding approvals
Implementing a rework scenario
Creating actions
Calling SAP backends (SAP S/4HANA Cloud and CAP services)
Updating data
Conditions and GoTo flows
Custom variables

Prerequisites

Bring your own laptop with power adapter and have a supported Web browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox installed on your laptop.

thank you for organizing the event. I have a question related to prerequisites, where specifically Chrome and Firefox browsers are mentioned. Is Edge also supported?

I am not sure why only those two browsers are listed, but I think you will be fine with Edge as well (in the background it runs chromium anyways...)

The latest feature scope description for SAP Build Apps has Edge and Safari listed as well:

The documentation for SAP Build Process Automation lists Edge together with Crome even as reference platform (based on my personal experience MacUsers do face some limitations with some parts of this solution).

As I'm travelling to Vienna by plane, and land at 8:40 so I expect to be onsite at 10:00. Will it be enough or do I need to be earlier?

Hi Tomasz,

I don't know exactly what @Dan_Wroblewski and @Rekha_DR planned, but typically they provide very good tutorials that you can follow at your own speed and catch up (in any case I would try to complete the SAP Build prerequisites BEFORE you come, as it will increase your learning time onsite.). Thus I think it will be no issue.

I agree with Franz. We have some introductions, then a short presentation about SAP Build. If you are ready with the prerequisites before you come, you won't miss much.

There was a time for Process Automation there was an issue with Edge, but that is mostly/completely related to automation bots, which we will not create. As Franz quoted above, you should be fine.
