Error in updaing z table

I have created a Z table and have written a module pool to update in the z table.

But when i gave the coding like this below

" INSERT zmt001_gatehdr FROM TABLE it_gatehdr."

it says the error msg like

"The work area "IT_GATEHDR" is not long enough . ."

could anyone help me to debug this error.

make it_gatehdr type zmt001_gatehdr

Hi Christina,

The Structure zmt001_gatehdr and it_gatehdr not unique. So you need to built both with same type.

Hi Christina,

Refer all the fields of your internal table it_gatehdr to that of your database table zmt001_gatehdr. This problem arises when you dont have enough space to store the value in the field of your internal table.

Hi Lavanya,

check your work area declaration IT_GATEHDR which u r using. Declare each and every field in it from table zmt001_gatehdr.

for e.g

data : begin of IT_GATEHDR.

include structure zmt001_gatehdr.

data : end of IT_GATEHDR.

this might solve your problem.

Thanx for the reply.

I have defined the internal table with field mandt.

should i assign the value for that field also..

only that field is now problem.

No need to mention MANDT.

Once u better goto SE14->edit->click on adjust and activate the table. It may work.
