Hi Chayya,

BOM - Bill of material - It is a material formed by the combination of several other materials.

Foe eg. -- A Computer

Even though it a combination of materials it is also termed as material in SAP and it has its own material number. The components from which it has been formed are called BOM Components.

EBOM's are design/engg BOM's.

MBOM'S are manufacturing BOM's.

Generally the design (EBOM) and the manufacturing (MBOM) views of the BOM are different, as each discipline has different needs and definitions as to how they structure and use a BOM. For example, the MBOM may contain phantom parts or made-on-assembly parts that do not exist in the EBOM view. EBOM's are used for the engineered products manufacturing i.e; designing a new product(for example).

Read Single-Level Material BOM: CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ

You can use this function module to display a single-level material BOM. Any assemblies in the BOM are not exploded

Hope this helps you.

Any queries, get back to me.

Regards,

Chandra Sekhar

Edited by: Chandrasekhar Gandla on Jun 30, 2008 6:19 AM
