Reading a file from the Application server.

I have a requirement to open a ZIP file for reading the Legacy file in a folder in the Application server. Please help me .

What is the application server ( i mean Unix or Linux or Windows...).

you first unzip the file to a folder then see the content from the folder.

if it is unix check there is a command to unzip the file.

Its Windows. The requirement is that, I should unzip the file through Programming, not manually..

OPEN DATASET, followed by READ is the ONLY way to read data from the application server.

What is "not working".?

And to unzip the file, you should use an unzip program on the application server called from ABAP (external command), rather than writing your own unzip.
