A tabstrip control is a screen element that consists of multiple tabstrip pages. Every tabstrip page contains a single-line tab title which is linked with a function code which makes it possible to access the tabstrip page with a double-click. Below the tab title, a tabstrip page consists of a subscreen area. A subscreen area must be assigned to every tab title. To do this, you have two options:

Scrolling in the SAP GUI

A tab title is assigned to each subscreen area and the function codes of the individual tab titles are defined with the function type "P". If the user selects a tab title, the event PAI is not raised. The corresponding subscreens are incorporated once into every individual subscreen area using the statement CALL SUBSCREEN of the flow logic. If the user selects a tab title, then the SAP GUI scrolls to the corresponding tabstrip page and displays its content.

Scrolling in the ABAP program

To each tab title, the same subscreen area is assigned and the function codes of the individual tab titles are defined without typing. If the user selects a tab title, then the event PAI is triggered. The corresponding subscreen is dynamically incorporated into the subscreen area CALL SUBSCREEN when scrolling using the statement CALL SUBSCREEN of the flow logic. In the ABAP program, you must activate the corresponding tabstrip title CONTROLS and the correct subscreen dynpro must be scheduled for the subscreen area.

Note

When you scroll in the SAP GUI and select a tab title, then no input checks are carried out and no data is transported to the ABAP program. The entries are not checked and the data of all subscreens is not transported until a user action takes place that triggers the event PAI. When scrolling in the ABAP program, the entries are checked at every selection of a tab title and the data of the current tabstrip page is transported to the ABAP program of the subscreen dynpro.

Hi,

You can the SDN with the term module pool programing. You will get huge deposits of information that will be of great help.

When ever you create TAB Strips, you need to mention the subscreens that are associated along with it. And in each individual subscreens you can define the Screen Elements which will be available. Then check for the syntax and also the attributes that are a part of screen elements.

Also you can search the SE38 with the search string DYNPRO for all the demo code.

Hi,

You need to create SUB SCREENS .

And then create subscreen area in the tabstrip.

Call the subscreen according to the condition.

You can call the subscreens to subscreen area according to some condition also.

If some condition is satisfied then you want to call SUBSCREEN1, if not satified then you want to call another SUBSCREEN like SUBSCREEN2.

Hi,

You cannot place controls in a Sub Screen Area in Module Pool programming.

Sub Screen Areas are used to display Subscreens (Screens of

Type Subscreen) at runtime.

Hi,

Subscreens are screens which can be embeded into another screen. These can be used and created with both selection screen as well as screen painter.

They differ from normal screens in the way that that they don't have OK_CODE field of ther own and there PBO and PAI transfer data to the ABAP program in which these screens were created and the cannot have module calls which change status or leave screen and module call AT EXIT-COMMAND AND E type function codes.

In screen painter(SE51) choose the subscreen tool button and draw a subscreen area on the screen,this subscreen area will be used to hold the subscreen at run time.To make a subscreen select the attribute screen type as subscreen and specify the size of the subscreen according to the size of the subscreen area in which it will be placed.

We use ABAP statement to embed and start the flow logic of the subscreen area in the PBO of a screen. A subscreen can contain another subscreen.

CALL SUBSCREEN subscreen_area INCLUDING program screen_number.

A similar call should also exist in PAI of screen.It will also call the PAI modules of the subscreen and will transfer data from subscreen to ABAP program.

CALL SUBSCREEN subscreen_area.

to use such a subscreen with tabstrip defined on the selection screen we should

use the DYNNR compnent of the structure which is created when the tabstrip is created and specifying the number of the screen .We can also define the subscreen statically for such a tabstrip by using

DEFAULT PROGRAM program SCREEN subscreen_number when declaring a tabstrip in selection screen.

SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF TABBED BLOCK tab_area FOR height LINES.

SELECTION-SCREN TAB (width)tab_name USER_COMMAND funct_code DEFAULT program SCREEN subscreen_no .

...

END OF BLOCK tab_area .

For each tabbed apge TAB addition is used with SELECTION-SCREEN statement. At the initialization event we can fill the tabstrip structure to dsiplay the default screen or specify it with DEFAULT addition.

tab_area-PROGRAM = SY-REPID.

tab_area-DYNNR = subscreen_nummber.

tab_area-ACTIVETAB = tabname.

You cant directly place fields on sub screen area... you need to create subscreen for each tab . then you need to call the subscreen in PAI event when tab function code is pressed.

You can't place the controls in the SUBSCREEN AREA direclty in the Screen Painter.

In the SUBSCREEN AREA you can display a SUBSCREEN through a program using the following statement in the Scren Flow Logic.

CALL SUBSCREEN '<SUBSCREEN AREA>' INCLUDING '<PROG NAME>' '<SCREEN nO>'.
