SPAU and SPDD must be done in client 000 of the sytem, is this correct?

2. I've already seen the list of objects affected in the DEV system, mostly are caused by the OSS implementations which happen to be also found/incorporated in the patch applied, "set to original" or "adopt modifications" would mean the same. What is the best practice to this?

3. How should we manage the transport for this? please provide the step-by-step procedure starting from SPAU/SPDD.

Thanks for your help!

Points will surely be rewarded.

SPAU and SPDD must be done in client 000 of the sytem, is this correct?

It's usually to do in client 000, but u should considere u're working on abap objects, so object client indepedent

2. I've already seen the list of objects affected in the DEV system, mostly are caused by the OSS implementations which happen to be also found/incorporated in the patch applied, "set to original" or "adopt modifications" would mean the same. What is the best practice to this?

The best is always to "SET TO ORIGINAL", if the object was changed to implement some notes now included in the patchs, u should set it to original.

U should implement the modifications manually, only if the object was updated for a custom development.

3. How should we manage the transport for this? please provide the step-by-step procedure starting from SPAU/SPDD.

U should consult your basis, u can create only one big transport or a transport for every object or group of objects.

Anyway u should consider these transports have to be used to correct the quality e production system after implementing the patches there.

Max

There is a button "Select for transport," how should I use this?

Addt'l

4. Before editing an object, is it always needed to click "Processor/status"? I didn't do this before resetting to original. In effect, an error occured "Cannot access file /usr/sap/trans_IW/tmp/X.LOS"

Hi

- only a patch/package was applied in my case. So, this will be treated like an ordinary request? release in CTS and import to other system, is this correct?

From the help:

The Select for transport function helps you to adjust other SAP Systems. In this case, do not use the transport release function in the Workbench Organizer. If you choose the Select for transport function, the adjustment process needs not be executed again in the subsequent systems (for example, the production system).

For the upgrade, create just one transport request and use this to record all modifications.

Note

If you have created several transport requests already, you must consolidate your object lists into one request. For example, if you have adjusted different objects in your development and your consolidation system, you must add the objects to a common transport request to include it in the adjustment process of the production system. For more information, see Transferring the Adjustment to Other SAP Systems.

To automatically transfer modification adjustments to subsequent systems, choose Select for transport after releasing the tasks for the request. When an upgrade is carried out for the subsequent system, the marked transport is imported. While importing Support Packages, you can add the transport to the Support Package Queue. A new adjustment is not necessary. For detailed information on transporting adjusted objects.

So in your case u can SELECT the transport and then add it to the patches queue, in this way the modification are automatically done in the next enviroments.

- just tried to do this not in 000 client. Hopefully, this wouldn't happen in 000. Would you know why it searches for this file?

I'm sorry but I don't know why

- I have all the status (green, yellow and red) and from my analysis, all can be set to original. Do you think it will be just a quick one? Actually, I haven't used SPDD and SPAU yet.

I don't think so, because only the objects with green status can be reset automatically, the others can be resetted manually.

Max
