What does transaction bd87 do?

Hello i need to change an idoc status.It is not working through other transactions.If i use transaction bd87, will it only change the status or/and treat the idoc?

hi,

u can check the status of idoc and reprocess the idoc using BD87 transaction.

for example if my idoc is supposed to change data in a purchase order.Will using bd87 change the data in my purchase order?
