search help exit

Hi,

Iam wroking on module pool programming.

I have a field for which i have 22000 records.

Now if i click i have to get all records,

but only 5000 records r getting displayed.

Now I need to write a search help exit for that.

Can anyone help me to find the exit.

Dear Shilpa,

For Any Search Help the Maximum number of records which can be fetched is restricted internally to a maximum of 5000 records.

So you cannnot get more than these number of records in your search help.

So if you create you own search help exit also it would be of no use as it would not fetch more than 5000 records.

The way of creating a search help exit is to copy the existing function module which acts search help exit and modify according to you requirements.

Moreover you should remember that since ERP 2005 the search help exit has become a generic one which has to be very well understood by you before you start modifying it and it uses field symbols.

so hope that it helps you in resolving some of your doubts and helps you to take some steps further.
