gui_download Function module is not working in Background Scheduling

Hi Experts,

Function modules like GUI_DOWNLOAD are not working in background scheduled jobs, It is raising an exception. Though it is working fine in foreground execution.

Please provide me solution for this challenging task.

Hi,

THis FM is used only for front end application. Check the documentation of this FM.

NO GUI func.modules will execute in background.

These work only in Frontend. Generally they dont work in Background

hi,

u cannot use GUI function modules while creating background jobs.

u can try in this way.

give the filename directly in the program instead of using gui function modules and then use the function modules job_open,job_submit,job_close to schedule a background job.

I can suggest u...like..if u can upload that data to application server...then u can directly download that file afterwards from application server..using CG3Y transaction.

work with open dataset and close dataset...

just loop over itab and transfer itab field for field into a string field separated by ;

It is not so comfortable as it is with GUI_DOWNLOAD but it works in background!
