Hello Everybody , can someone help me please

I have the GSW Telnet in the pocket pc running but I can't connect it to SAPCONSOLE , I don't see the sapconsole in the pocket pc can somebody help me please

I'm running SAP in linux

I'm running the GS SSH Client in my laptop and I'm getting the conection to the sap server

But I 'dont know what else to do

can someone help me please

Hi Benjamin,

I don't know what is a sap console, but you are speaking about two different procolo telnet / SSH

try to make a telnet host 22 maybe you will have an answer.

(ports : 22 = ssh, 23 = telnet)

Ok, lets start at the beginning. Do you have a server or small PC running GSW and has SAPconsole installed? And are you trying to get a sapconsole connection on your pocket PC. If so, Are you looking to get a web interface?

first Thanks for your help

I open the port 23 at the sap server running in linux

I Install georgia softworks at my latpop, when I run the Instalation status it saids is woring perfect I mean the 2 services are running

I'm running the GSW running in my laptop and I install the sapconsole in my laptop

I'm in SAP 640, SAP_APPL 500

in windows 2000 under control panel I configured the sapconsole and if I run the sapcnsl.exe in my laptop is working fine .

What else should I do

Ok, so far it sounds pretty good. Couple more questions.

1) You want to make a connect with your pocket PC, right? If so, do you want a web interface? Or, the standard text based(dos).

2) Are there any other types of devices to be connected?

.about the web interface it depends wich one is more easy to install, What do you recomend? We would use this for Inventory Transaction LM01

.Just the pocket pc is going to use sapconsole no other devices

Ok, then I guess the pocket PC is running like a Windoes CE or something? Are you able to use a web browser on the Pocket PC?

So far I'm not able to run internet in the pocket pc , I just have it syncronized to my laptop

Also this pocket pc has Bluetooth, Native IR and Generic IrDA , the thing is that in this company there is no wireless conection and this pocket pc does not have a ethernet connection that's why I can't browse internet

Hmm.. This could be a problem. The whole thing with SAPconsole is to allow an RF solution or even a wired one for stationary scanning units. If you have a connection to your laptop via "blue tooth" or what ever, you can telnet to your box. Open an MS dos prompt, and type.....

telnet <your_laptop_ip>

You will get a logon screen. Enter you user name and password. You should now get the SAP log on screen.

Again, this will only work if you have a connection from the device to the laptop.

I got internet in the pocket pc

But still no connection to GSW

it saids "waiting for data from server"

Ok, when you installed the sapconsole, did you do the part where you setup WebSapconsole. What this will enable you to do is access the sapconsole screens thru a web browser. If this is the only kind of interface that you require, then you can get rid of the GSW telnet server, since everything will be handled thru IIS and HTTP. Make sense? Do you think that this is the way that you want to go?

Ok , it makes sence and looks much better the solution

but what I did was installing the sapgui at my computer but not at the server lever , question do I have to install

websapconsole at server level.

I did not configure the websapconsole , I'll talk to the basis guy if I have to install it at server level.

So that's good no telnet . much better

We have a small PC, acting like a server. All it does, is sit there and serves up the SAPconsole connection. All of our users connect via telnet, because of the devices that we use. They are text based. When I upgrade the server to 6.40, I also configured the WebSapconsole part as well, just for my knowledge. So now you can access SAPconsole via telnet and via a browser. I am trying to look for the document that helped me setup the WebSapconsole part. You will also have to do some IIS work. I will get you the link as soon as I find it.

Ok, I found it. Here is the installation guide. It will get you started. You will need your "S" number to get the file. If you don't have one, I can send it to your email address. In this guide. It talks about j2ee engine, you don't need to do this part.

Dispatcher.The thing is I don't have it in my Laptop , so I have to install the j2ee right?

Do you know where can I download it or in which SAP CD is located

In my version of 6.40, you don't have to do anything with j2ee. I would skip that part.

Hi Rich , Yeah Sorry , sometimes people in this case I did not investigate What I have to , I just finish this part and I can log on from my laptop to the websapconsole

My next step is to log on from the palm I'm trying to get a Router so I can connect to the web with it
