can any body tell me what are the advantages and dis-advantages of giving FIXED VALUES to DOMAIN.

I would say maintenance ! I prefer value tables

Hi,

disadvantage in contrary to a customizing table is that

s.o. has to open a workbench request to change the fix values!

Hi Adreas,

I agree with you! That is why I said I prefer value tables

Hi,

No documentation is needed for that!

As andreas and I said, when you need to add a value if you use fixed value, you will have to open the workbench request and add the value in the domain -> aLMOST for dev only!

If you use a value table you can use standard table maintenant transaction SM30 for end users

Hi,

another disadvantage that you need a special fm (i've forgotten the name) to read out the fixed values- reading CU-Table is the easier way !

DD_DOMVALUES_GET.

All it does is a read on table DD07T
