Making key fields editable in table maintenance

Hi friends ,

When I am creating table maintenance for tables all key fields are not input enabled.Is there any way to make it editable ?

hi,

you cannot make the key fields editable

becuse this may cause redundancy

Hi,

1. The normal table maintenance

will not allow such thing.

2. Moreover its not recommended !

3. Its always better to delete the old row and insert new one.

No you cannot do this because "editing" key fields means

- DELETE existing record and

- INSERT new record

It is - by no means - an UPDATE of existing records.

Hi,

Key fields get input disabled when you put some value in them and and do some event.

But why you require it editable.

Because key fields constitute one unique record.

If do some mistake while creating record just delete that record.

hi,

it possible for that u need to goto SE80

then in function groups open the open in which u have saved ur table maintenance.....then click on the screens branch on the left handside down window.....

click on the screen number

on the right handside u will get 3 tabs on to the Element List

sorry this is the entire procedure

in SE80

goto Function Group

then click on Screen

then click on Element List Tab

below u can see list of ur fields strting with ZTT-......

and against that u can have to uncheck the checkbox in INPUT column ......

so that the input for the field will be disabled..... when u go in edit mode......
