To increase the performance

Hi All,

I have created a new report

The new report will be a copy of and have the same functionality as standard SAP Asset Balances report RABEST_ALV01. There will be logic added to allow address data on the selection screen. The report output will display this address data along with the other data fields from the standard report. The new report will have the ability to create a sort variant with any of the fields of structure ANLAV_ADDR.

The report has around 1800 pages of output and its geting timedout in foreground and running in background it takes around 1:30 hr....

can any body suggest how can we decrease the time and increase the performance.

use sql trace must for improving hope u knw to use it..

Hi Rajesh,

This report basically uses a Logical database ADA.

This can cause a slowing down of system.

as this progresses sequentially.

there have been control brreak statements which have been used.

These can traced by using SE30 runtime analysis,

SLIN- Extended program check,

SCI- Code Inspector

ST05 - SQL trace - Switch on SQL Trace and check for which table is being accessed for a long time.

based on this you will have to modify that paritcular SQL statement.

if its a Control Break Statement from Logical database there is NO other option.

also you can look at crerating indexes for the tables involved.

This can reduce you time cosnutmption.

This issue is resolved after the basis has increased the heap memory from 2 GB to 6 GB.
