How to create the INBOUND Function Module for INBOUND IDOCs

Hi Friends,

Can any Suggest me How to proceed to Create an INBOUND Function Module for Processing the INBOUND IDOCS

which are recieved from XI Server ?

I am working in SAP-ISU

Here i will recieve the INBOUND IDOCs for the Meter Reading Orders.

We have a Standard INBOUND FUNCTION MODULE

IDOC_INPUT_ISU_MR_UPLOAD

which Uploads the Meter Reading Results.

I copied the Same function Module into ZIDOC_INPUT_

and working on it.

Can any one suggest me, whether i am going in correct way or not.

In IDOC_INPUT_ISU_MR_UPLOAD Inbound fun module,

BAPI_MTRREADDOC_UPLOAD is used to Update or Insert the Meter Reading Results,

My requirment is to Insert and Update the Meter Reading Orders which are Inbounded from XI.

Can I Use the Same BAPI

BAPI_MTRREADDOC_UPLOAD

to Update the below fields,

EABL-SERNR

EABL-ZWNUMMER

EABLG-ABLESGR

EABL-V_ZWSTAND

EABL-N_ZWSTAND

EABL-ABLHINW

EABL-ZSKIPC

EABL-ADAT

EABL-ATIMTATS

EABL-ADATTATS

EABL-ATIM

EABL-ZMESSAGE

EABL-ABLESER(Meter reader number)

By which Function Modules Can i Update these Fields,

Hey i am not sure but even chk with few of them.

Idoc inbound processing through tRFC-> IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS

Inbound processing throuh file->IDOC_INBOUND_FROM_FILE

Inbound processing for transferred IDoc ->IDOC_INBOUND_SINGLE

Inbound processing for transferred IDoc ->IDOC_INBOUND_SYNCHRONOUS

I think you are going completely astray with you z-function module for IDoc processing.

If you look at TABLES parameter METERREADINGRESULTS (type BAPIEABLU ) of BAPI_MTRREADDOC_UPLOAD you will find many of the requested fields already:

EABL-SERNR => BAPIEABLU-SERIALNO

EABL-ZWNUMMER =>REGISTER

EABLG-ABLESGR

EABL-V_ZWSTAND

EABL-N_ZWSTAND

EABL-ABLHINW

EABL-ZSKIPC

EABL-ADAT

EABL-ATIMTATS => ACTUALMRTIME

EABL-ADATTATS => ACTUALMRDATE

EABL-ATIM

EABL-ZMESSAGE

EABL-ABLESER(Meter reader number)

Field EABL-ZMESSAGE appears to be custom field (at least I cannot find it on ECC 6.0). If this field was added using include CI_EABL then you probably can get these values into the BAPI using the EXTENSIONIN parameter.

Check routine CHECK_UPLOADRECORDS in the BAPI which allows two extension structures:

- BAPI_TE_EABL

- BAPI_TE_EOSB

Not surprisingly BAPI_TE_EABL contains the include CI_EABL.

we are not having the BAPIs

BAPI_TE_EABL

BAPI_TE_EOSB

If they are existing they might be useful to me lot

BAPI_TE_EABL         and
BAPI_TE_EOSB

are structures. They define how the data in the less structured parameter EXTENSIONIN (type BAPIPAREX ) will be interpreted by the BAPI.

For details of the mapping have a look into the coding of the routine I mentioned.

Hi friends,

How can I Update Custom fields for EABL DB table by using BAPI_MTRREADDOC_UPLOAD

for the parameter EXTENSIONIN of type BAPIPAREX

I am passing the Structure as BAPI_TE_EABL

in that structure MRIDNUMBER as EABL-ABLBELNR field value

ZMESSAGE some text of 30 char and

ZSKIPC of 2 char

but I am not able to update that data for the MRIDNUMBER (ABLBELNR ) in DB table EABL

I am getting RETURN Structure message type E

"Upload interim entries: Maintain one table only"

Can any one provide me solution

Hello,

Can you please tell us how did you resolve this issue. We're currently having the same problem uploading the MR results. I'd want to use the "EXTENSIONIN STRUCTURE BAPIPAREX" in the FM : IDOC_INPUT_ISU_MR_UPLOAD. But, I'm not sure where is the custom code going to be handled.

Your help will highly be appreciated.
