Hi can any one plz tell me what is fieldcatalog and what are the parameters and use....?

The fieldcatalog is a structure containing all chararteristics of the fields have to be display in ALV.

U can see all informations you need by the documentations of fm REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY

What is Field Catalog?

It is a container in which it displays the output in a formatted way. Field catalog containing descriptions of the list output fields. You can use fields of the catalog to determine the number format and column properties of the list to be displayed.

hi check this..

the simple fieldcatalog is like this..

wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'MATNR'.

wa_fieldcat-reptext_ddic = 'Descrition'.

append wa_fieldcat to it_fieldcat .

clear wa_fieldcat .

or use this..

wa_fieldcat-fieldname = 'MATNR'.

wa_fieldcat-reptext_ddic = 'Descrition'.

wa_fieldcat-tabname = 'ITAB'.

wa_fieldcat-col_pos = 1 .

append wa_fieldcat to it_fieldcat .

clear wa_fieldcat .

Hello Balu

In order to display some tabular data in an ALV, the ALV needs some information about the columns/ fields which will be displayed in the ALV. Field catalog is basically the internal table which carries information about each of the columns/ fields with which ALV has to deal with. It need not necessarily contain information about each of the columns/ fields in the data table used as data source of ALV. Only the fields which are important for display or of some technical use for ALV need to be informed to ALV through field catalog.
