In SELECT-OPTIONS structure

SIGN has two values INCLUSIVE and EXCLUSIVE .

1) What is mean by INCLUSIVE ?

2) What is mean by EXCLUSIVE?

3) what is the difference between INCLUSIVE and EXCLUSIVE ?

Hi Saritha,

INCLUSIVE is to include the range of values u are given.

EXCLUSIVE is to exclude the range of values u have given.

For an Example if u give the range 10 to 50 and SIGN 'I' i.e., INCLUSIVE then u are getting the data including 10 and 50 values.

INCLUSIVE means by which the select statement will pick the records which satisfies the where condition

2) What is mean by EXCLUSIVE?

EXCLUSIVE means EXACT opposite the the above

I mean the select statement will pick the values other than the condition satisfies.

As the names suggest, inclusive stands for including the value in the range specified while exclusive excludes that value for selection. Meaning, when this select options data is used for selecting some data (say) through a select statement, depending on the sign, the value will be included or excluded for selection.

Inclusive and Exclusive options u can use only in Select options...

If u create a select options....Sap maintain and internal table with 4 fields at background...

for eg : select-options : s_matnr for mara-matnr.

so s_matnr has 4 fields called LOW , HIGH , OPTIONS, SIGN - inclusive or exclusive...

Inclusive - fetches wat u have given in text box

Exclusive - fetches remaining other than wat u have given in text box..

Inclusive:

The term inclusive denotes that the endpoints of a range are included within the set. For example, "the integers -2 to 2 inclusive" refers to the set {-2,-1,0,1,2}; the endpoints, -2 and 2, are included

Exclusive:

The term exclusive denotes that the endpoints of a range are not included within the set. For example, "the integers -2 to 2 exclusive" refers to the set {-1,0,1}; the endpoints, -2 and 2, are excluded.

pass the parameters to SIGN, OPTION, LOW, HIGH....in the INITIALIZATION.

In the select-option screen (when you hit F4), you have exclude values tab with the RED round icons. Fill in your exclude values here and then execute the program.

for ex if you donu2019t want to print 500 to 600

If UR passing values to select option then ..

SO_sign = "E'

SO_option = 'BT'.

SO_low = 500

SO_high = 600.

Select option will perform even if you have not entered any values in it.it will cosider as all the values & will give you output as per that only.

Select option with no interval means user can only specify a single comparison in the first line in the selection table on the selection screen.while dialog box for multiple selections still allows interval selections.so you will not see second input box on screen.

select option with no extension means user can not access the dialog box for multiple selection on screen. so they cannot edit selection tables containing several lines means you will not get push button for multiple selection here.
