Hello Chandu,

Configuring the residence time can vary between archive objects. The most common place to check this is within the SARA transaction and then, Customizing -> Application-Specific Customizing. This is true for FI_DOCUMNT, SD_VBAK, etc. Note that not all archive objects require a residence time.

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,

Karin Tillotson

Hi Chandu,

I agree with Karin has mentioned and in addition to this some other information on Residence time are:

1. Some Archiving object are archived based on the residence time and some does not require residence time as a pre-requisit US_AUTH, US_PASS, US_PROF, US_USER so on.... and some Archiving Object will be archived based on Residence time but we will be not configuring it such AO's are CHANGEDOCU, IDOC.

2. Some Archiving object will be having Residence time 1 and Residence time 2 for example MM_EBAN MM_EKKO, PP_ORDER so on. No of days mention in Residence time 1 is exceeded then it will set the document for Deletion Indicator. Residence time 2 is used if business requires the data to be present in the database for some days even after the deletion indicator is set.

Chandu, Please let us be informed which archiving object you are working so that we can be very specific for your requirement.

Reward if it benifits.

-Thanks,

Ajay
