    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Folks, &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'm new to ABAP and as such I need clarification regarding the following: &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1) what actually a user-exit do? Is it similar to what a trigger does in &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;SQL? &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2) Do we have to use only the SAP defined user-exits or can we code it in &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;our programs? &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3) Can we customize in such a way that messages within our organization is &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sent thro' Lotus Notes? This is a requirement by our Orgn. Pl help me out as &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;this is very urgent? Also Pl. be as detailed as posssible. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are on 3.1h.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you mean by the 3rd question can SAPMail be sent to Lotus Notes the &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;answer is yes. You need to follow the installation instructions for &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;integrating your Notes server, but it is possible to send SAP information to &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;external email programs.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
