Yes, you're right. You have generated with only one screen and the maintenance generator is limited. You have to delete your screen and create two screen for your table.

Regards,

Christophe

reward if helpful

Hi All,

I have a requirement.

I had created a custom table with 5 fields with partner_id as the key field.

I had generated the table maintenance for this.

But, when i maintain via sm30, the maintenance screen should display 7 fields, i.e

for the partnerid, the firstname and the lastname has to be display as the second and third column.

So, in the maintnenace screen sm30, i should have 7 fields display... but actually in real custom table, there will be only five fields (except firstname and lastname of partner).

Please guide me how to do this development.

Do i need to change the code generated via table maintenance and add these two fields in the table control and code to retreive the values for the firstname and lastname.

Please help me.

Thanks,

Jaffer ali.S

Hi ,

I feel that would really complacate the processing as you will have modify all the features used in the standard code , a simpler solution would be to create a module pool program to maintain the table,

Regards

Arun

Hi Shamiddin,

Yes u can achieve in this way.

First delete ur table maintenance genertor. Create it again with 2 screens( Select Maintenance type as Two step).

Now open This Function group in SE80. Here add ur 2 new screen fields to both the screens. Now activate the screen. Now go to the PBO modules. Here u have to add ur logic for populating these new fields(Because standard code will not populate these fields). I think u need access key to modify this even it is for Ztable. Check this and get back in case of any clarification.

Thanks,

Vinod.

it is not a wise idea to add your custom fields in standard sap table maintenance generator screens..

each time you do a re - generate, (in case you added a new field in the table, or changed a data element, ) you will have to regenerate your tabe maintenance generator, and you will lose your code...

in this case, it will be better to create a custom screen with these fields and write code to populate the table..

or to make it easy, create a maintenance view with all fields required,
