Unable to clear Zebra printer buffer from Smartforms

We are trying to print a barcode Smartform to a Zebra printer Z140 XI II using the ZPL II language. Normal printing of the form is successfull, but when another application prints to the same printer, our form does not clear the printer buffer causing the contents of the

previous label to merge with our forms content. On the advise of Zebra support we inserted the ^{PR command in the main window of the form (as per OSS notes 868331 & 750772 we inserted'S_LZPL_SETUP' under spool control free attributes and '}PR2,3' as the attribute value). This command is associated with refreshing the printer's memory. However, the result is unsuccessfull.

To send a printer command, I was inserting it in the correct place as the memory clear would have to happen first. I am inserting the command under the main window in the free attributes for spool request. Is this the correct place, and do any other conditions need to be set for this command to be executed at the start of the form? The ^PR command was recommended because the change of speed forces a memory refresh according to Zebra tech support.
