any body answer please

Hi all....

Please try to understand my requirement...

I working with dailog programs....

In one my screen iam having two input fields...

Both are not related to any database or customized tables...

here if i enter any values in these two fields and press one of push button of this screen....it has to go to next screen.... but some times it has to give one info' message....

Here my problem is if i got that message and click continue to rectify or to leave that message....i am coming back to my screen...."WITH OUT HAVING MY ENTRIES"...so here again i need to enter the values for these two fields....

I want to avoid this problem.....the values which i entered has to keep there even after info' message.....

Ensure that the fields are defined in your Global area (_TOP)

Then do your edits wiht CHAIN: passing the fields.


  CHAIN.
    FIELD: a1_zlmcont-fname.
    FIELD: a1_zlmcont-lname.

    MODULE edit_0100_names.
  ENDCHAIN.

if all edits are good, then the Button will be handled in the USER_COMMAND Module where you will

CALL SCREEN <the next screen number>.

Hi,

I presume you are clearing the entries in your PBO..hence after your Error message the PBO is triggered and the data gets lost.

Make sure you dont clear the fields in your PBO.

hii,

here you can use the chain statements..

the chain end chain staements are used to valididate the selection fields if they are correct or not.

remember ths statement is a dynamic programmig code,,,so we have to write it in the flow logic of the screen prg.

eg:-

chain.

fields f1,f2.

call function module. mesage e type.

end chain.

if the fileds f1 and f2 are correct then the function module will get executed, if not the message e type will be triggered giving u the 1st screen ready 4 input again.

again if between the 2 fields if 1 of them is correct, then also u will receive the selection screen but the field which is correct would be grayed out and only 1 field can be again re inserted.
