which bapi works for this

hi gurus,

i am supposed to extract the material master data from sap regarding one plant.

the following fields are to be extracted.

is there any bapi, which gives out these fields or do i have to do a lot of selects with inner joins.

hi amit,

thank you for the reply,

actually, i need to transfer material from one plant to another,

when i searched in the sdn i found idocs is the best way,

but i cannot use it bocs, before, i transfer it into new plant, client wants to verify and do some changes, to the data extractd so, i cannot use idocs,

when i input the plant number i need to extract all the material from that plant, using the tcode cs12 i need to find out if there are any sub level matnrs to that matnr,

if yes i need to put them below this matnr.

first step

should i be putting a

select matnr from marc plant = P_werks.

or is there a good bapi to do this.

thanks ravi,

before i close this thread, i want to know

the program when copy pasted, is giving the error forthe below stmt:

WRITE:/ BAPI_HEAD, BAPI_MARC1.

BAPI_MARC1 is not charecter type.

do i have to loop around it to display.

Going from BAPI to flat file is a big design change. Are you sure that you have thought both of your options through for before choosing one? (Look at different aspects like business requirements, error reporting, data volumes, data security, robustness required for the process etc)

It is possible to use a BAPI for ALE, i am not sure of the exact details though.
