hw can i change the length of field in standard table.

ex: mara-matnr length 18..

let me change the lenth 20..

Hello Spandana,

Changing the length of matnr is an absolutely unacceptable idea. You have to change ALL related links, tables structures ... where matnr is used - cross references to SD, FI, PP, PS etc. My suggestion: convince your client when he wants to change the material length he should better change from SAP to e.g. Baan ....

One way in changing the length is to simulate matnr by another not used field with the length 20 (in MARA). Such a field-length-change can be achieved by not so important attributes like matnr.

Hi,

Please dont change any standard field properties like MARA-MATNR etc..

if your requirement need anything, please extend your standard table ( Include structure ) and create an Zfield.
