Append Structure to SAP table

Hi,

I want to append structure in SAP table. Do I need a Access key to append a structure? I pressed the APPEND STRUCTURE button, the system just displayed the windows with existent appends for the table. It did not ask me the new append structure name. What should I do to add a new append structure.

Hi,

On the window that poped up you will see a button create structure..use that to create a new str.

Thanks Santosh for quick reply. Do I need to ACTIVATE and ADJUST DATABASE CHANGES. If yes, can you give the steps needed to complete the append structure process.

Hi,

You dont need the acces key for that.

First press the append structure button.

Then there is a icon For New Append Structure(Or press F6)

It will ask for the name of the append Structure.

Give the Name and Then Enter the required fields in the Structure

Activate the Apeend Structure.

The append structure will be added to the table.

hii,,,,

append stuctures are used to add on some extra fields to sap standard tables..because we cannot change a sap standard table.

this append structures are termed as enhansments.

append structures are always being added at the end of the table fields.it can never be added inbetween the table fields,thts why append structures are not used for pooled tables bcz the pooled and the cluster tables always have LCHR and LRAW these long fields at the end.

we always have to name the append structure with ZZ or YY, because duing upgradation there is a possilbity of overwritting the the append structures. after adding the append structure only activate the table.there is no need to alter the table defination.
