Can anybdy plzz tell me the difference b/w skip_record and skip_transaction in LSMW

please dont copy paste

plzz explain in brief

Hi Manu,

SKIP_RECORD : If you want to skip any of the record in the incoming file based on some condition you can use the SKIP_RECORD. Then this particular record wont be passed to the transaction.

SKIP_TRANSACTION: This will skip the whole transaction without trasferring the record to the transaction by TRANSFER_RECORD.

You can find the difference when you have different file like header and line items.

but still its not clear

by skip_record that record will not be processed ie will not be converted

but then what is skip_transaction?

Hi Manu,

skip_record. The current record is not transferred to the output buffer.

skip_transaction. The current transaction is not written to the output file.

Examples

Skip a Record

Situation: You want to "skip" a record depending on a certain condition, i.e. this record shall not be

converted and transferred to the output file

Solution:

if <condition>.
skip_record.
endif.

Skip All Records of a Transaction

Situation: You want to "skip" all records of a transaction depending on a certain condition.

Solution:

if <condition>.
skip_transaction.
endif.
