Idoc segment limit

Good morning:

I have read that the idocs segment maximum length is 1000 characters, but i need to generate an idoc with more length at least 1600 characters, i would like to use idocs for having all the standard status process for control it, does anybody know any alternative or procedure?

I don´t understand clearly what are you saying, where can i create new fields for generating the idoc?

Is there any possibility of create a segment child and manipulate the final file with an user exist deleting the separating space between the 2 segments.

Hi,

If you are creating your own idoc then its better to create the segments each of length 1000 characters.

If you want to use the standard one thne you have to extend the idoc by adding child segments to the existing segments.

Its not the space b/n segments,

It means each segment can contain fileds each of lenght 1000.

There is no space concept b/n segments.

When you are saying that there is not b/n space between segments, are you saying that if i create a segment child for a segment it would be read like if the 2 segments were a long one?

Hi,

It will conside only the length of the segment only.

whether its a main segment or a child segment.

The only restriction is that each segment should be of max 100 characters only.

There is no concept pf space in b/n segments.

Parent segment( 1000 characters)

..Child segment(1000 characters).

So each segment defined should be of max 1000 length.
