Difference Between User Status and System Status WBS Elements

HI all,

I am trying to figure out the difference between User Status and System Staus of a WBS( Work Break Down Structure) Element in Project System.

I would appreciate, if any one can provide me a good documentation abt Project System.

Hi Ravi

I am not sure about user status in PS, but generally System Status is controlled by SAP. You cannot change this, manually except by triggering the events required for the status change. User Status on the other hand can be changed programatically.

System Status is something predefined by the SAP and we don't have control. User Status is something defined in the configuration where functional folks defined based on the company requirement which is not supported available in the System Status.

Hi Yuvraj,

I am afraid that the statement you made, that the system status can not be changed manually except by triggering the events required for the status change, is not correct. As a matter of fact, the WBS elements are closed and TECOed very ofter programmatically.

The function module STATUS_CHANGE_INTERN is used to change the system status while STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN is used to change user status.
