hi ,

i have a requirement where i need to run my program in background . i have scheduled a background job in sm36 . but that could not be found in sm37.Moreover, when run in background i need the following message " E-Mail generated and sent to XXXX@XX.COM with attachment XXXXXXXXXXXXX.XXX” to get displayed also.

where do i have to code for it? please provide any pointers.

Hi,

When you run the program in background you cant raise any messages or POP-UP screens.If you try it will go for Dump.

In tcode SM37-- select job status check boxes

shelduled ,released ,active,cancelled,ready ,finished.

In user name give * .

Now check.

To get the messges only way is If success store the messgaes in apllication server as a file.

in sm37 check the date of execution or give program name

check graphical display or log

Sandhya,

You can schedule a program for background job using the below given function module

job_open

job_submit

job_close

after this you can check for the sy-subrc and give the message as per your requirement.
