Changes to custom Idoc and BAPI

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have developed a custom inbound BAPI (ZBAPI_UPDATE_DELV_TIMESEG) and Idoc (ZDELEVNTUPD)for my client, which has been released and tested successfully. However, the client would like to add 3 new fields to the inbound Idoc. I have modified the BAPI - no problem, but because the idoc segments have been released, I am unable to a) add fields to the idoc segment (ZDELEVNTUPD01) and b) get the idoc function module (ZIDOC_INPUT_ZDELEVNTUPD) to regenerate with the new import parameters of my modified BAPI (ZBAPI_UPDATE_DELV_TIMESEG).

I would approciate any suggestions on how to get the Idoc Function regenerated, and any further thoughts on how to modify the idoc segments.

Hi,

You can cancel the release for your idoc and then you cancel the release of your segments and you can modify the segments. the changes will be affected in the idoc.

Afterwards again release your segments and idoc.

Procedure to cancel release for idoc:

Go to WE30.

And take the menu path EDIT->cancel release

Procedure to cancel release for segment

Go to WE31.

And take the menu path EDIT->cancel release

Hi ,

Goto WE30 Provide your custom basic type ,in the menu select Edit and go for Cancel release . Now u can change

. To add fields any segment go to WE31. same Navigation.

Unfortunately, I have tried doing this. After I cancel the release on WE30 and WE31, I go to modify the WE31 segment and get the error message 'Segment Type Z1ZDELEVNTUPD cannot be changed'. A further drilldown on this message reveals the message 'Segment type Z1ZDELEVNTUPD is flagged as generated'. I suspect that this is because the Idoc Message and Type have been generated/activated via BDBG.

I need to get the segment 'ungenerated' before I can make the changes and try to regenerate again.

Any thoughts.

Hi Stephen,

For this U need to extend business object because its generated based on busineess object.

Use the transactions BDBG and BDFG.
