Deleting the first space data

Hi,

In my object i want to transferthe data from flat file and to store in DB table..In flat file some data starting with ***...

I want to delete this star and then only i want to upload into the data base..sometimes there will be three stars,sometimes there will be 10 stars..

So how to delete tht particular star presenting in the place

SHIFT field LEFT DELETING LEADING '*'.

Hi,

u can modify all the fields having prefix * using the statement REPLACE ALL OCCURENCES OF '*' ... in your program.

Hi,

After the data is retrieved to an internal table, just modify the records by deleting the leading *

Command: SHIFT <itab-fld1> LEFT DELETING LEADING '*' .

You can use this cmmand in a loop and then use the modify statement.

replace all occurrences of '*' in itab-field1 with ' '.
