Archiving custom tables created

Dear All,

How can we archive custom tables created which are growing numerously?

What are the steps need to follow to archive entire data existing now or upto some date?

Before archiving do I need to perform anything related to custom tables like assigning to archive object or some otherthings?

Identify all the tables, structures, views, domains & data elements which are stored in $tmp and delete them.

Hi,

I'm planning to do this activity in production ..

$tmp objects will not exist in production right?

please suggest if It can't be possible directly in production.

Hello,

If archiving the custom data is necessary (you need to retain the data for business and or legal reasons), then, you would need to create a custom archive object, create the custom archive write job and delete job. You would need to determine what custom tables need to be archived together. This is not something that would be done directly in your production system. You would need to create in your development system, do a lot of testing and then transport the changes through your landscape.
