I don't think so that solution is there for your question, but U can avoid using VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL FM when It is assigned to a transaction code. in SE93 just maintain in Default values tab:

Name of Screen field Values

VIEWNAME Z_MYVIEW

UPDATE X

just save the transaction code and execute it. It works like how U managed writing a program and calling above function module.

Enjoy SAP

K.R.Reddy

VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL - parallel user maintenance?

Hi there

To maintain the data within a view, I know, that the function "VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL'" can be used.

But the problem is, the maintenance of the data is only seriell and not parallel. (only one user at the time can work within this view in the modus change).

Is there any function or method, that alows parallel maintenance of a view?

Thanks.

Petra

Hi Petra,

The Function VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL can be used to display the table data and I don't think it is possible to view the Table data in Change mode, as it would contradict the Basic principles of Database Management system.

If two users are making the changes simultaneosly, then it is difficult to track the data.

In effect, the Serial nature of the databases is a feature.

I would like to see if there is really a way out, from other members.

Regards,

Ravi

VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL can be used for creating/editing entries in tables by passing action = 'U'

parameter.

but the behaviour you are seeing (single user) is by design otherwise data integrity cannot be ensured.

Regards

Raja

No -i agree with Raja- your data could be inconsistent by allowing parallel maintenance of a table.

it's all the same: neither sm30 nor fm VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL will allow it

regards Andreas
