Hello Sanchez,

when you open a new empty embedded GUI

there is an option "Navigate to editor in Eclipse for supported development objects".

If you uncheck this flag then the code navigation will stay in the embedded GUI. The IDE will remember whether the flag was checked or unchecked the last time and also use this later when you run an embedded GUI via Alt-F8.

Best regards,
Armin

Hi Armin,

Can we change this setting later on? I remembered turning it off, and cannot find where to change it 😐

BR,

Suhas

Hello Suhas,

you won't see the dialog if you choose "Run ABAP Development Object... (Alt-F8)", but you should always see it if you choose "Open SAP GUI (Ctrl+6)" from the toolbar. Then you can change it. I'm not sure whether this setting is also accessible via preferences or properties.

Best regards,
Armin

Gotcha...

I don't use the Eclipse-SAPGUI integration; 'coz it looks funny to me 😄

Thanks anyway.

BR Suhas

Hi Armin,

this option is a little bit buggy in my opinion. The place where it's located suggests that it's a local option that only counts for the current window you want to open. But this is not true. It works as a global option e.g. if you open SE24 in another SAP GUI windows (using Alt+F8) and you want to open a class there it also prevents navigation to eclipse. This is very annoying in my opinion. Having this as a true local setting that only affects the current window would be great.

Regards

Tobias

Hi Tobias,
we have put this to our list of requirements and we will discuss the following options:

Provide it as obviously global setting

Provide a local setting as well

But to be honest, the priority will not be very high compared to other requirements...

Regards,
Michael

I see. An alternative to separate windows might be to scale the embedded GUI to 80% (Might require IDE restart). That's what I like to use because it avoids/reduces scrolling.
